We are looking for a Senior Application Specialist to join the Digital Health Branch on a fixed term temporary full time basis. you will provide effective change management, capacity planning, risk management and continuity planning utilising best practices in systems support and service delivery, with the ITIL framework.

The successful candidate will provide ownership for the DHS ICT Change Management processes in line with ITIL best practice standards and delivered on schedule.

How you will be assessed

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘Key Responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated ability in developing and promoting ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident / problem / test / change and configuration management (SFIA: USUP Level 4, PBMG Level 4, CHMG Level 4, CFMG Level 3, TEST Level 3)
  • Demonstrated ability in the provision of high-level specialist advice on, and support for, clinical enterprise applications (SFIA: TECH Level 5)
  • High level leadership and design of large scale, complex/high risk projects (SFIA Code: PRMG 6)
  • High level project management skills, with the ability to achieve successful project outcomes (SFIA Code: PRMG 6 (NHS: Drive for Results)
  • High level knowledge and application of project management methodologies (Prince 2) (SFIA Code: METL 5)
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure that service delivery meets agreed service levels in a customer focused ICT / Clinical Business environment (SFIA: SLMO Level 4)
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
  • Well-developed ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, other technical specialists, application specialists, vendors and end users (NHS: Collaborative Working)
  • Previous experience working with ieMR applications is preferred

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Participating in on-call arrangements may be requirement of this position. Appropriate remuneration under the Award will apply.
  • This position may be required to work at different sites.
