About the role
The purpose of the role is to provide an advanced level of general dental practitioner service to all eligible clients with a significant role in supporting other clinicians, including mentoring of inexperienced clinicians and supervision of students.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in the provision of all aspects of general practitioner oral health services including comprehensive knowledge of Infection Prevention practices with proven skills and experience in one or more specific areas of Oral Heath to enable comprehensive service provision to clients of community clinics and if rostered, to clients of correctional centres and minimise off site referrals.
- Experience in the provision of high-quality patient oral health care on a personal and population basis. Ability to understand and respond to patient needs. Ability to manage client complaints and expectations.
- Well-developed leadership and supervisory skills. Understanding and ability in the provision of contemporary leadership principles, including Queensland Health Leadership Qualities Framework, Recruitment and Selection, Performance Appraisal and Development (1:1 conversation) and best practice
- The ability to provide and accept constructive feedback where appropriate.
- Ability to innovatively analyse, identify and resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- High level written and oral communication skills to enable effective interaction with individuals and groups. Well-developed negotiation skills
- Well-developed ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, clients, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively lead a team and work as a team member to achieve organisational goals.
- Ability to effectively use or quickly acquire the ability to use applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point, Novell, Outlook, ISOH, Cliniview
- Knowledge of, ability and motivation to adhere to organisational policies, values and goals. Motivated to work consistently with Queensland Health values.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
