This flexible, permanent full-time role offers the opportunity to play a key role in driving and implementing our controlled document framework, and leading the coordination of customer complaints management.

About the Role
As Principal Policy Officer you will provide high level expertise, guidance and advice on the policy and resolution programs of work. This role leads the Policy and Resolutions team, which is responsible for controlled document management processes and customer complaints processes and reporting.
Reporting to the Manager Governance, Risk and Planning, this role supervises two A05 employees in the Policy and Resolution team.
Your Responsibilities
Using your understanding and experience in policy, legislation and customer complaints, you will:
- implement policies and procedures for controlled document management and customer complaints management
- lead the Policy and Resolutions team to plan and deliver work programs whilst building the capacity and capability of team members
- translate content from policy owners and legal advice received into practical policy that can be easily understood
- assist managers with internal audit recommendations and other reviews involving controlled documents and customer complaints to inform business improvements
- regularly review QLeave's existing policies and procedures, and develop new policies and procedures based on organisational priority requirements
- coordinate and prepare complex documents including reports, submissions, presentations, and policy documents, where required
- develop and maintain professional relationships with other government agencies and jurisdictions, industry, stakeholders and internal and external networks, where required
- ensure policy related governance is maintained in monitoring consistency with legislation, regulations, policy and procedures for the Portable Long Service Leave schemes.

What We're Looking For

- build and sustain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally, proactively offering assistance for a mutually beneficial relationship
- lead the team, plan a program of work and allocate tasks that align with the strategic priorities and communicates expected outcomes
- demonstrate knowledge and experience of relevant governing legislation and information standards.
There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however, previous policy experience and sound legal experience will be highly regarded.
