QEII Emergency Department are looking for a Nurse Educator to join their team. The Nursing Practice Development Unit is a centralised education team working collaboratively to promote a culture of lifelong learning within the organisation and supports a range of learning and development activities for nurses. The role is accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of Emergency nursing education programs, managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues in meeting the strategic priorities of Nursing Services within Metro South Health (MSH).

About the Role
The Nurse Educator leads and supports a culture of development and enquiry which actively encourages and facilitates clinical, professional, and organisational learning within a Supported Practice Framework.
Supporting excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, the Nurse Educator Emergency Department provides clinical leadership, research, and education. In a supervisory capacity, this role supports the nursing team to ensure clinical standards are maintained and excellent patient outcomes.
- Participate in the strategic development of a work-based culture that promotes and supports education, learning and workforce development that positively effects patient care outcomes.
- Responsible for providing safe, compassionate care, integrating the nursing and midwifery Professional Practice Model, quality frameworks (Magnet® or Pathway to Excellence®) and Person-Centred Care approaches of caring for each patient's psychological, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical care needs. This supports achievement of best clinical practice and individualised patient care and outcomes.
- Responsible for educating nursing team/s on the application of critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement to provide safe contemporary nurse care according to NMBA standards.
