About the role

In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of training programs to enhance the skills of family law lawyers while overseeing onboarding processes and developing role-specific competencies. You will create and update training materials, implement a supervision framework for Family Law Services, and coordinate dynamic Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, including Legal Aid Queensland staff conferences.

Additionally, you will represent clients in family law, including appearing in matters related to domestic and family violence, child protection, and other related areas. Working closely with Directors, you'll contribute to legal policy, procedure, and law reform initiatives, while fostering a trauma-informed, inclusive environment and championing high standards of respect, quality, and accountability in all that you do.

About you

We're searching for a leader with the following:

  • Proven expertise in a diverse range of family law, domestic and family violence, child protection, and related matters.
  • Comprehensive experience in preparing and delivering professional development initiatives, including seminars and training programs.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, underpinned by a trauma-informed approach when working with clients and stakeholders, including those with complex needs.
  • A growth mindset and ability to navigate dynamic teams with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of governance and risk management to maintain high practice standards.
