We're seeking a dynamic Head of Finance to lead financial strategy and drive sustainability at the highest level. This is a permanent role, offering the opportunity to work closely with our Senior Leadership Team, you'll be at the forefront of transformation—ensuring best-practice financial management, legislative compliance, and long-term impact.

Join the QAS as we embark on an exciting period of growth and transformation. We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking financial leader who thrives in a dynamic, high-performance environment. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing financial resources effectively and ensuring compliance with legislative and best practice standards—while championing sustainability and delivering value in the public interest.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-level strategic and operational financial advice to the QAS Board,Senior Leadership Team (SLT), key governance committees, senior managers, andstakeholders.

• Driving risk-aware financial and procurement practices that support performance outcomes and organisational priorities.

• Establishing strong and trusted relationships across the Board, SLT, executive leaders, and key external partners.

• Overseeing major budgetary decisions, including budget submission development and the financing of significant QAS projects.

• Leading the timely and accurate preparation of QAS's annual financial statements,ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Queensland Treasury reporting requirements, and other relevant legislation.

• Contributing to the integrity and continuous improvement of financial systems and records in line with auditing, departmental, and statutory requirements
