We are looking for a Business Support Officer for our business unit, Information and Technology Partners (ITP). This exciting opportunity is responsible to help drive the smooth, efficient operations that support critical ICT services across Queensland.
ITP is hosted by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and delivers information technology and information management services to 7 government agencies. Our purpose is to provide effective and innovative services as a trusted, strategic partner distributing smart, secure and seamless solutions. The opportunity:
As an AO4 Business Support Officer, you'll become the go‑to person who keeps our people, processes, and projects running with precision. You will also be responsible to:
- Support our people operations, helping with recruitment, onboarding, advertising positions, panel coordination and separation processes.
- Coordinate and support events, from booking travel and accommodation to organising catering, rostering, logistics, and hands‑on event setup and pack‑
- Provide high‑quality administrative support such as preparing briefings, agendas, papers, presentations, and taking minutes when required.
- Maintain key records including asset registers, licences, collateral tracking, and data entry across key databases.
- Support project delivery, helping plan and prioritise tasks to meet important timeframes.
- Undertake research and contribute to best‑practice tools and systems that uplift communication and engagement across ITP.
- Stay across legislation, policy and process requirements, offering sound business process advice to staff.
- Build strong working relationships, ensuring positive and effective collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience):
- Experience in undertaking administration roles in a large business unit involving human resources, finance and procurement business processes.
- Sound skills and experience in using Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Outlook, WORD, EXCEL, Teams and PowerPoint, to deliver administrative services in a large business unit.
- A track record of working in a team to deliver great customer service.
- You must have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
Whilst not mandatory, the following would be highly regarded.
- Experience in resolving administrative process problems and implementing quality assurance practices.
- Experience contributing to business improvement initiatives in a large business unit.
