About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct regular and random security foot and vehicle patrols
  • Provide a high‑quality, professional security and safety presence across hospital facilities
  • Issue infringements as an authorised officer in accordance with parking and smoking legislation
  • Support emergency responses, patient escorts and incident de‑escalation
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful, patient‑centred environment

You will work closely with clinical teams, hospital staff and members of the public to ensure a safe and secure health service environment.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide comprehensive security services and assistance to patients, visitors, staff and contractors whilst at the same time protecting the physical assets of the hospital and campus.
  • Provide traffic, smoking and other controls as outlined in the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 and the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998, including directing and/or physically escorting disorderly persons off Health Services land.
  • Maintain a high visibility security presence throughout Health Service facilities in line with the prioritisation of tasks.
  • Ensure the integrity of Health Service facilities and assets by checking and implementing lock-up procedures.
