The Urology Fellow at Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service is a 12-month full time position incorporating clinical, research and education. The prospective Fellow is a medical graduate who has completed or about to complete an approved Urology surgery training program. The role bridges the gap between Senior Registrar and Consultant, focusing on consolidating specialist skills in complex urological surgery, research and clinical leadership.
Fellows will have the opportunity to run a supervised new patient clinic running alongside a trained consultant. Along with emergent presentations, the role will also include endourology, urologic oncology, reconstructive urology and a wide range of urological pathologies.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provision of Urological services to patients in accordance with the standards of the discipline and ethics of the profession.
- Specific duties may involve ward rounds, outpatient services, procedural work, multidisciplinary team meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews and collaboration with the other medical teams and other professional streams.
- Participate in the on-call roster to provide after-hours services in accordance with the needs of the health service.
- Provide leadership in clinical services of Urology that is innovative, encourages participation in treatment and care aimed at achieving demonstratable improvement in patient outcomes.
Salary rates: $5,155.00 - $7,189.50 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L4 - L13) (temporary full-time position, 76 hrs p.f.) for up to 12 months. Applications will remain current for 12 months / or the duration of the vacancy. Applications may be used to appoint to similar vacancies for a period up to 12 months after the closing date of the initial vacancy.
