Paediatric Surgical Fellow

As a Paediatric Surgical Fellow in Paediatric Surgery, Burns & Trauma you will deliver a high level of clinical service consistent with your skills and experience under the supervision of the Senior Medical Staff of the Service, demonstrate commitment to evidence based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits and clinical risk management activities, and deliver these services in accordance with the values, policies and practices of the Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.

About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Participate in inpatient, outpatient and consultative clinical services in Paediatric Surgery, Burns & Trauma
- Participate in provision of an after-hours and weekend roster for clinical service (average 1:7 roster)
- Participate in the preparation and presentation of Service meetings
- Participate in the training of SHOs, Residents and Interns in the Service
- Participate in research into areas relevant to Paediatric Surgery, Burns & Trauma
- Participate in quality assurance programs
- Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work, health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
- Develop a positive culture within Paediatric Surgery, Burns & Trauma which encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing.
- Commitment and contribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health equity reform, to Close the Gap by 2033, as underpinned by the CHQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Strategy 2025 – 2028.
