About the work unit / facility

Surgical 2 is a 29-bed inpatient unit providing tertiary-level care across general surgical, colorectal, urology, vascular, breast and endocrine specialties. The unit also delivers the only specialist hepato-biliary service outside of Southeast Queensland.

With a strong focus on safety and quality, Surgical 2 supports both elective and emergency patients, often with high acuity and complex care needs. This creates a fast-paced and challenging environment, supported by a team committed to innovation, collaboration and achieving the best possible patient outcomes.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Base salary range: $44.06 - $56.51 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)
  • Plus great salary packaging options to increase take-home pay

About your opportunity

As a Registered Nurse within Surgical 2, you will deliver direct patient care using your clinical skills, education and experience to support high-quality, evidence-based practice. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the care of patients with a range of complex surgical needs, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster
