Social Worker - Senior

Join a dedicated team providing enhanced culturally safe chronic conditions health services! The Mūrrūmba Targan Djimbulung Service provide wrap-around health and well-being support to First Nations adults who live in West Moreton and experience chronic health issues, such as diabetes and going heart and lung issues.
The purpose of the role is to provide high level clinical leadership working within a multidisciplinary environment, delivering evidence-based, clinical social work services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, women, families and carers participating in the Mūrrūmba Targan Djimbulung Service.

What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- An understanding of the social determinants and inequalites/barriers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face in health care.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and to effectively engage with community built on mutual respect.
- Competence and experience in delivering social work clinical services in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards using well developed psychosocial assessments and intervention skills and specialist expertise in evidence informed clinical care, support and advocacy in the health care system.
- Commitment and leadership for active and ongoing professional development, research and supervision and to meet the CPD hours set by the AASW.
- Effective written communication skills including psychosocial assessments, correspondence with service providers and clinical reports and the provision of practice within the medico legal requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia for a Social Worker, eligibility of AASW membership. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
