We are seeking an Administration Officer – Theatre Bookings to join our Patient Administration Services team at QEII Hospital. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting elective surgery services by coordinating theatre bookings, maintaining surgical waiting lists and ensuring patients receive timely access to care.

About the role
As a key member of the Theatre Bookings team, you will:
- Coordinate elective surgery bookings and manage waiting list activities
- Process procedure cancellations, rescheduling and patient updates
- Maintain accurate patient records and booking information within Queensland Health systems
- Support effective utilisation of theatre resources and operating schedules
- Produce reports, undertake audits and contribute to data integrity activities
- Liaise with clinicians, case managers and multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow
- Deliver responsive, professional and customer-focused service to internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with ongoing improvements to booking processes and service delivery
About you
You will be a motivated and detail-oriented professional with:
- Experience working in a busy administrative or healthcare environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High-level computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare administration (highly desirable)
Experience with elective surgery bookings, patient administration systems or waiting list management will be highly regarded.
