Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $216,643 to $274,678 p.a. (L18-L27)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
- Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
- Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
About your opportunity:
- Responsible for appropriate clinical supervision and direction of medical staff, (including Specialist Trainee registrars) within the unit.
- To work effectively within a team environment consisting of medical, nursing, allied health and support staff.
- Engage effectively as a member within the multidisciplinary health care teams.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the diverse range of clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS).
- The Medical Officer will ensure that the Diagnostic Imaging and interventional procedures under his/her control are of a high standard and providing written reports on examination for which he/she is responsible.
- The Medical Officer will participate in the provision of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging Services to the patients of the Townsville University Hospital including:
- Conventional plain film radiology
- Ultrasound
- Computerised tomography
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging
- Fluoroscopy procedures
- Participate in the provision of an on-call roster to provide emergent radiological services out of hours, at night and on weekends.

Requirements:
- Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (if applicable).
- All successful applications must be awarded scope of clinical practice by the Townsville Hospital and Health Service Credendtialling Committee.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
