About us: 

Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all Health Service physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. IAM is staffed with professional, trade operational, and administrative staff. Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices.

The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. IAM provides 24-hour corrective maintenance and breakdown service for the facilities around the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

About you:

In your new role you will....

  • Complete all work assignments including delivery of Planned Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance activities. These work assignments also include minor new works approved by the facility, equipment replacements and new installations as required. Works are to be completed based on priorities and schedules issued by Trade Coordinator or Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure all Planned Maintenance work orders have required service reports attached as evidence of completion. Discuss defects identified with Trade Coordinator and assist in compilation of corrective works required to ensure equipment/items inspected remain in a serviceable condition. This includes completion of all paper based and electronic records.
  • Participate in monthly toolbox meetings, actively participate in any and all other meetings required as part of the service delivery.
  • Demonstrate a proactive willingness to undertake any training or skill development deemed necessary to support the role and business needs.
