Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service provide an extensive range of health services at more than 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across a geographical area of 142,900 square kilometres. The Health Service is 95 percent self-sufficient with only a small number of high-level acute services being provided in Townsville and Brisbane.
Gordonvale Hospital is situated 30 minutes south of Cairns and offers specialist palliative care (12 beds) and a 12-bed inpatient unit for general medicine patients with complex medical needs. The semi-rural township of Gordonvale offers provides an excellent location from which to explore the nearby Atherton Tableland Region to the west and the Cassowary Coast to the south.
About your role:
Gordonvale offers both a medical unit and a dedicated palliative care unit, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services tailored to the needs of the community.
Your main tasks may include (but are not limited to):
- Personal care, assisted daily living tasks.
- Risk assessment & care planning.
- Medication administration & management.
