Your new role:

As the Clinical Midwifery Consultant – Maternity Patient Flow, you will provide advanced midwifery and operational leadership across Maternity Services at Logan Hospital. You will take a whole-of-service view of maternity activity, supporting effective patient flow, capacity management, resource coordination and operational decision-making to ensure women and families receive safe, timely and high-quality care.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, senior nursing and midwifery leaders and services across Metro South Health, you will use your clinical expertise, operational insight and strong stakeholder relationships to optimise maternity service delivery.

  • Work collaboratively across Logan Hospital, Metro South Health services and external partners.
  • Support contemporary, evidence-based and culturally safe models of maternity care.
  • Promote woman-centred care, professional midwifery practice and positive consumer experiences.
  • Use data, performance reporting and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.

About you:

You are an experienced midwife and confident senior clinical leader who can balance advanced clinical expertise with operational thinking. You will bring the ability to see the bigger picture, respond to changing service demands and work collaboratively to achieve safe and effective maternity outcomes.

  • Strong patient flow, demand and capacity management skills.
  • Experience in service planning, activity monitoring and operational coordination.
  • Demonstrated leadership in quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management.
  • Ability to analyse data, monitor KPIs and use information to inform service improvement.
  • Commitment to woman-centred, culturally safe and equitable maternity care.
