About the role

As the Nurse Researcher within the Epilepsy Service, you will play a pivotal role in advancing clinical research that improves outcomes for people living with epilepsy. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert research leadership and support across the development, coordination and delivery of clinical research projects. You will collaborate with clinicians, researchers, academic partners, healthcare consumers and external stakeholders to build research capacity within the service, identify funding opportunities and contribute to a strong culture of evidence-based practice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Integrate nursing and health care knowledge, skills, and ability by supporting an evidence-based learning environment and participating in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
  • Collaborate with others to promote and communicate research activity as achievable and rewarding and assist to maximise research potential in novice researchers.
  • Work collaboratively with academic partners, healthcare consumers, and with other internal and external stakeholders to build research capacity through identification of training, collaboration and funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate the development of specific clinical research projects by assisting with the development of research protocols and managing ethical and clinical governance approval and preparing applications for grant funding.
