About us: 

The Physiotherapy Service provides a friendly, supportive environment and is responsible for providing high quality services across the continuum of care to client/patient groups both within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) and for patients from the Cape York and the Torres Strait catchment areas who receive care at Cairns Hospital.

The Physiotherapy Service is committed to providing contemporary, evidence-based practice and provides opportunities to participate in research or project management as they arise. We are a growing and innovative department with a strong research agenda with multiple team members completing PHDs, Research and Masters programs and are supportive of team members who participate in project positions. The Service values a well-trained workforce and supports staff in participating in a range of professional support and development opportunities.

Our values were developed by our staff, patients and community. They guide our work and actions every day. Our staff are part of the community we serve. We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.

About your role:

In this position you will…..

  • Manage an appropriate caseload using high level time management and prioritisation skills including the maintenance of accurate patient records and recording departmental statistics.
  • Develop Physiotherapy clinical practice knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within a team environment, and engaging in professional development activities.
  • Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by adhering to clinical governance policies and processes and by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
