The Position
This is a unique and exceptional opportunity to be involved at day one in the establishment of the exciting Sunshine Coast Health Institute (SCHI). We are looking for an experienced Director with extraordinary leadership and management skills, enthusiasm and a passion for education, to join our specialised SCHI team. This is a pivotal role that will serve as a highly visible and energetic champion of the SCHI, establishing the facility as a state-of-the-art education, training and research facility. The SCHI Director will work closely with, and take strategic direction from the SCHI Management Committee to ensure the SCHI reaches its fullest potential.

The Sunshine Coast Health Institute (SCHI) is an integrated, collaborative and comprehensive education, skills training and research facility for health professionals, central to the SCUH’s vision of providing excellent care through collaboration, enquiry and education. Together, the SCHI Partners: Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, the University of the Sunshine Coast, TAFE Queensland and a university medical school, will provide a range of educational tools and training to develop and improve the skills of doctors, nurses, allied health workers, health professional and vocational students.

The Health Service
At the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) we’re changing the way healthcare is delivered to our communities. The new Sunshine Coast University Hospital (opening April 2017) represents the development of a true tertiary level health facility for our community. When the new hospital opens, it is estimated that 10,000 fewer patients each year will need to travel to Brisbane for complex healthcare.

This is your opportunity to join an expanding Health Service with a culture of innovation, education, training and research, with facilities across the Sunshine Coast including the new University Hospital at Birtinya.

The SCHHS provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying and flexible and promotes a healthy balance between work and personal life. Your skills can help us shape the future of healthcare in the Sunshine Coast region.

SCHHS offers employees:

  • Competitive salary and packaging advantages
  • Generous superannuation scheme
  • Increased learning and development opportunities
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Team approach to healthcare delivery
  • Strong leadership and strategic direction
  • Positive workplace culture.

Remuneration value up to $145 454 p.a., comprising salary of $127 484 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (DSO2). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
