The Role
A permanent full time position has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Suicide Prevention Program) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH).

You will take responsibility for
Providing consumer focused and evidence-based mental health care at a senior level to support consumers at risk of suicide, including the following:
- Systematic identification and assessment of suicide risk
- Consultation and specialised intervention directly targeting suicidality
- Work closely with mental health acute care teams and community based mental health services to provide for continuity of care
- Be a clinical expert resource to provide clinical governance, develop staff and champion proactive suicide preventative mental health practices
- Contribute to quality and service improvement activities and research
Requirements for the role
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- AHPRA or relevant professional board registration
- Relevant post graduate qualification or commitment to complete such
- Credentialed or working toward being credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses
- Be and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B
- Current drivers license

Salary information
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $110 499 - $119 964 per annum
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading

About Us
Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented.
Specialist services include the Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) targeted at reducing suicide rates through improving care for individuals at risk of suicide in the care of GCH. The multidisciplinary SPP team work collaboratively to systematically identify and assess suicide risk among people receiving or presenting for care at GCH. Timely suicide care management plans, or a pathway to care incorporate effective, evidence-based treatments that directly target suicidality and provide for continuity of care to improve consumer outcomes and better care for those at risk.
