Clinical Educator - Queensland Centre for Mental Health Learning

This position will develop, coordinate and facilitate delivery of core mental health skills training programs to health professionals and other relevant stakeholders. This position will be involved in the teaching of accredited courses, clinical skills and assessment of clinical competence. Permanent Full Time and Temporary Full Time positions available.

About the Role

This position requires collaboration with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), mental health service education staff, service managers, Team Leaders, senior clinicians and discipline seniors in the delivery of training. Collaboration will include state level services such as the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch (MHAODB) in speciality areas such as the Mental Health Act 2016 legislation, risk assessment and management, clinical supervision, and suicide prevention (Suicide Prevention Health Task force).

About You

You will be someone with demonstrated highly developed training and facilitation skills and experience and expertise in developing, implementing and evaluating education and training programs.  You will also have high level knowledge of curriculum content development, design and implementation utilising both paper based and multiple media techniques in line with adult learning principles.

About Queensland Centre for Mental Health Learning (Learning Centre)

The Queensland Centre for Mental Health Learning (Learning Centre) designs, develops and delivers standardised core mental health skills training and resources for mental health clinicians and other mental health workers.  Products include a range of face to face workshops, blended learning courses that include both face to face and eLearning, and an accredited and nationally recognised training workshop. eLearning programs are made accessible via its website.

These Training programs provide a practical (through to more complex) foundation in mental health knowledge and skills with an emphasis on consumer safety and mental health recovery. Training packages are created using a standardised, evidence based approach.  They are designed to be rigorously evaluated to ensure outcomes are reached.  The Learning Centre also oversees state-wide projects related to developing the capability if the mental health workforce.

The Learning Centre's mission statement is to continue to grow, develop and nurture a skilled and sustainable mental health workforce, to provide a quality recovery-focused approach to mental health care.
