To ensure that Queensland delivers on this commitment and keeps pace with advancing global technology, the Government is looking to appoint Australia's first public sector Chief Customer and Digital Officer.

This new role will focus on driving customer and digital transformation across Government and will provide assurance at every level of our digital systems. Working across a broad stakeholder group you will also ensure that Government is investing in the right things at the right time, and delivering contemporary and citizen centric outcomes for Queensland.

The Chief Customer and Digital Officer (CCDO) will be responsible for the establishment, oversight and successful delivery of the newly formed Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group with a focus on driving customer and digital transformation across government.

The CCDO will drive the delivery of key whole-of-government customer, digital and ICT components across the QG Customer and Digital Group as well as more broadly across Queensland Government. This includes strategy, policy and standards and service delivery design, development and operations.

The position is also responsible for overseeing and strengthening the government's approach to ICT investment, governance and assurance.

The Chief Customer and Digital Officer (CCDO) is responsible for ensuring:

• the people of Queensland are at the heart of government's digital service, technology design, policy, investment and delivery

• That digital procurement is citizen centred, design led, data driven and aligns with the transformation roadmap

•  The government's digital and ICT assurance and investment prioritisation framework, and digital and data standards

• a whole of government view of current and future ICT and digital investment and report on opportunities and risk

The CCDO will provide advice to chief executives and Ministers on opportunities, risks and issues to be actioned to improve digital services and ICT investment and delivery.  The CCDO will also ensure independent assurance reviews at key project gates and as directed for complex/high risk initiatives and monitor implementation of recommended actions and drive legislative reform to enable safe and secure data sharing.

The CCDO will provide advice to chief executives and Ministers on opportunities, risks and issues to be actioned to improve digital services and ICT investment and delivery.  The CCDO will also ensure independent assurance reviews at key project gates and as directed for complex/high risk initiatives and monitor implementation of recommended actions and drive legislative reform to enable safe and secure data sharing.
