In the role of Apprentice (Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technician) you will develop technical expertise and experience relating to the inspection, servicing and repair of a modern truck and trailer fleet, diverse plant and equipment in accordance with RoadTek's quality and performance standards and principles. You will be mentored by qualified Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technicians and Diesel Fitters on a variety of trucks, trailers and earthmoving machinery.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• Undertake repairs/servicing, non-structural welding repairs and maintenance of a modern truck and trailer fleet, earth moving plant, and associated equipment.

• Perform work on engines, cooling systems, transmissions, brakes, fuel pumps, steering, axle assemblies, hydraulic systems, electrical equipment and air conditioning systems related to various trucks, trailers and equipment.

• Perform any other duties that are in accordance with the Queensland Apprenticeship Board requirements of Apprentice Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

• Attend blocks of TAFE to complete the theory part of your trade.
