The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Health Worker (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health - Evolve Therapeutic Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Undertake community care duties including networking with other agencies, creating partnerships and implementing health promotion strategies
  • Provide cultural supervision to non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of the team
  • Monitor the occupational health and safety regulations and the rehabilitation of staff
  • Be highly organised and have a high level of attention to detail

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Identified Indigenous Information under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Primary Health Care in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health or a comparable field
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Working with Children Check
  • Drivers licence
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary

  • Permanent part time (38 hrs p.f)
  • Base salary ranging from $46.78 - $49.10 per hour

About Us

Evolve Therapeutic Services is a multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty team within the Gold Coast Child and Youth Mental Health Service operating across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to provide mental health assessment and intervention to children and adolescents (0-18 years) involved with Child Safety with extreme and complex therapeutic and behaviour support needs. This role is based in Southport.
