The Mental Health Service Group are currently seeking to recruit an Advanced Health Worker to their team on a permanent full time basis. This position sits within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Assessment Engagement Services.
It is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by, and arguable under, Sections 25, 104 and 105 of the QLD Anti-Discriminatory Act (1991).

About your opportunity
As a member of the Cultural Assessment & Liaison Team (CALT), Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Assessment Engagement Services (A & TSI WAES) Program Area you will participate in and contribute to the delivery of a culturally sensitive and appropriate mental health care service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients who access the Child and Youth Mental Health Service Team.

Generous remuneration package value up to $93,498 p.a. comprising salary range of $2959.80 to $3141.00 p.f. (HW5), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Role Requirements:
- Possession of Diploma in either:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
- Mental Healt Peer Work
- Mental Health
- Alcohol and other Drugs
- It is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by, and arguable under, Sections 25, 104 and 105 of the QLD Anti-Discriminatory Act (1991).
- Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2000 (Qld) requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People prior to appointment to this position.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- Possession of class C drivers licence.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
- Employees must maintain vaccination protection and provide evidence confirming they have received the prescribed number of doses of COVID19 and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD).
