Essential Qualification Requirements are:
- Eligible for registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- If eligible for registration as Provisional Psychologist, must be either currently on the 4+2 internship pathway, or have completed an APAC accredited 5th year degree in psychology and eligible for 5+1 internship pathway.

CONTINUOUS APPLICANT POOL
LOCATIONS: We have multiple locations available across the Wacol Precinct:
Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre:
- Largest male remand centre in Southeast Queensland
- You'll have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and assessment-focused environment.
- Given the unique demands of the correctional setting, we provide comprehensive training to prepare you to work safely and effectively with Prisoners.
Brisbane Correctional Centre:
- Primary reception centre for newly sentenced male prisoners in south-east Queensland including Maximum-Security Unit.
- A variety of dynamic offender management regimes are utilised in managing the diverse offender population.
- Psychologists have the opportunity to develop assessment and intervention skills and provide advice and management strategies for acute cases.
- You will be supervised by Senior Psychologists who are STAP-accredited - providing provisionally registerd psychologists with the opportunity for on-site secondary supervision.
- Financial support provided towards external supervision.
Brisbane Women's Correctional Centre:
- The centre is the primary reception centre for women in Southeast Queensland and employs a gender responsive trauma-informed practice.
- Working in the centre as a psychologist you will have the opportunity to conduct assessment, intervention and engage in case management with a variety of external stakeholders to support positive rehabilitation outcomes for women and their children.
- You will be supported with opportunities for professional development and provisional psychologists will be supported to complete internship requirements.
Wolston Correctional Centre:
- Accomodates male prisoners classified as protection.
- The centre is a placement facility with a population of largely sentenced prisoners and supports progression towards rehabilitative outcomes including programs, education, and employment.
- Psychologists will have the opportunity to conduct assessment, intervention, and case management with more predictable timeframes regarding release.
- You will be supported with opportunities for professional development and provisional psychologists will be suppored to complete internship requirements.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based assessment and intervention for adults, experiencing difficulties relating to suicidality, mental health problems, cognitive impairment, or developmental disorders.
- Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to provide high quality professional reports and case notes.
- Well-developed verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse client group.
- Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures.
