Talent Pool Educators – Health, Communities and Education

TAFE Teachers sometimes travel to other locations and travel associated with delivery is generously compensated.

The Health, Communities and Education Faculty delivers vocational education and training to students in the following industries:

- Counselling
- Mental Health

As a TAFE Teacher your responsibility will be to support quality learning for students who are interested in pursuing a career in a Health, Communities or Education industries. This will involve creating and delivering training programs, evaluating student performance and providing effective feedback and guidance to support and improve the student experience.

South West Region

Mandatory Requirements
To become a TAFE Teacher you would need to possess:
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided; and
- Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
- TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
- TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
- TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
- TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
- A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
Don’t have a training and assessment qualification? We may be able to support you in paid employment through our Foundation Educator program, while you obtain one. You may also be eligible to study the training and assessment qualification through Fee-Free TAFE.
Some roles in the Health, Communities and Education Faculty also require a Working with Children Check (Blue Card). Confirmation of employment would be conditional upon the preferred applicant being issued with a Blue Card. Salary
The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $81,867 - $109,586 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.
Casual TAFE Teachers are paid $99.95 per hour.
