High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; Brisbane City and Wacol
The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises of the following work groups:
-HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;
-HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol
-HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville and;
-The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.

The essential requirements for this role are:
- Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.
- Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced by the ability to build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders with a range of competing interests.
- Demonstrated written communication and research skills including the ability to prepare reports and submissions on complex matters and analysis of trends.
- Problem solving and analytical skills for investigating and resolving HR issues and for improving HR processes and improving work practices and reporting procedures.
- Management skills, including project, human resource and financial management skills, to ensure the effective utilisation of resources, and management of change impact within the team.
- Demonstrated experience in a HR/WHS role at a senior level.
- Experience in the identification, design and implementation of HR/WHS strategies and solutions relating to performance management, workforce planning, workplace health & safety systems and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated strength in organisation design and effectiveness, building and developing teams, and must be capable of delivering the full spectrum of HR/WHS generalist and organisational development support to meet both current and future needs.

- Performance assessment and management skills.
- Strategic analysis, policy and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the position.
