Principal Advisor HROMU


High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; Brisbane

The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises of the following work groups:

-HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;
-HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol
-HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville and;
-The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.

To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills:
- Experience and understanding of the assessment risk management and case management of high risk sexual and violent offenders.
- Community engagement, key stakeholder liaison and/or working with special interest groups.
- Strong management capabilities with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage others to meet high standards.
- Demonstrated ability and understanding of offender assessment intervention and treatment planning.
- Experience in change management, problem solving and continuous improvement processes.
- High level knowledge and application of research and practices specific to effective management of high risk and sex offenders and knowledge, interpretation and application of complex legislation, policies and procedures.
