Department of Anaesthesia are looking for several Permanent and Temporary Full Time and Part Time Staff Specialist to join their team. This role provides specialist Anaesthesia clinical care to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care. Services provided include yo provide high quality clinical anaesthetic care to patients, and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.

About the Role

  • This role reports to Director, Anaesthesia
  • This position fulfils accountabilities and responsibilities in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives.
  • Provision of the highest standards of clinical anaesthesia and peri-operative patient care
  • Ensuring patient safety by understanding and appropriately managing clinical risk
  • This role will involve the provision of anaesthesia related services as determined by the needs of Princess Alexandra Hospital. This may involve services in, but is not limited to:
    • Main Operating theatres including Cardiac theatres
    • Pre-Admission Clinic
    • Acute Pain Service
    • Endoscopy suite
    • Cardiac Catheter laboratories
    • Radiology Department
    • Day Surgery Procedure Unit
  • Involvement in the provision of on-call services
  • Appropriate documentation of care using the electronic medical record keeping system
  • Contribute to processes to improve the continuity of clinical care, coordination of services, clinical handover, and discharge planning during and after hospitalisation
