Sentence Management Services, Serious Offenders Group, Victims Register.
The Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) Victims Register (VR) works with the assistance of other parts of QCS to inform eligible persons about important events in the sentence of those prisoners or offenders they are registered against.
The Senior Advisor will work collaboratively as part of a team to support the activities of the VR by providing information to eligible persons, processing VR applications and providing updates on the prisoner/offender of interest.

Within the context of the role responsibilities described above under “About the role', the ideal applicant will be someone who can competitively demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experiences and their suitability against the Leadership competencies for Queensland (Individual contributor): Vision, Results and Accountability in the context of the essential requirements for this role:
- High level consultation, negotiation, and communication skills to ensure processes are effectively managed across a range of stakeholders.
- Written communication skills, particularly the ability to prepare complex and sensitive reports, briefings, policy papers and submissions.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and procedures as they apply to the criminal justice system and QCS.
- Ability to provide information and advice to management in relation to victim related issues particularly those related to operations of the QCS Victims Register.
- Interpersonal skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, who often have competing interest on sensitive and complex issues
- Experience in mentoring or supervising other team members.
- Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policy for an organisation through analysis of trends and data and a focus on problem solving.
- Ability to develop, prepare and facilitate training and information sessions.
