The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (ODC) is a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a small team responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations.
The Custodial Delivery Command will lead Custodial Operations’ reform agenda, transforming the division into a high performing custodial environment that supports the Commissioner’s vision of a top tier public safety agency. It provides leadership and promotes best practice in the prioritisation and sequencing of effort, delivering timely, valued and connected change. The Custodial Delivery Command is responsible for the coordination and effective delivery of a range of operational projects and provides oversight of practice across the state in all areas of operation. The Custodial Delivery Command is a critical enabler in delivering the QCS reform agenda.

This role will be responsible for delivery of business improvement/organisational change programs/projects within the Custodial Delivery Command. In this role you will:
- Plan, supervise, and manage projects related to the successful implementation of the custodial reform agenda.
- Provide direction to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Develop relationships promoting productive communication and a positive work environment.
- Implement relevant project controls to measure and monitor the conduct and progress of projects, including identification of key deliverables.
- Develop, promote and implement project management governance frameworks.
- Manage risks and issues that may impact on the successful implementation of key outputs related to Custodial Operations reform.
- Plan, lead and implement organisational change activities that align to custodial operations reform agenda.
- Develop, and provide expert strategic and tactical advice on the development and implementation of methodologies and frameworks to support business change.
- Build and improve relationships with internal (cross-Government) and external stakeholders, including inter-jurisdictional partners and private sector service providers.
- Promote a positive image ensuring effective partnerships are developed with client groups.
- Proactively promote an effective working culture by capturing and sharing knowledge.
- Provide high level advice and recommendations to senior management.
- Supervise, motivate, encourage and coach staff in the performance of their duties.
