District Manager
South Coast Region; Community Corrections; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; Woodridge
Community Corrections is responsible for the supervision of adults who have been sentenced to a community-based order by the courts or released to parole-by-parole Board Queensland. The role of Community Corrections, including the High-Risk Offender Management Unit is to keep communities safe, through reducing the risk of re-offending by facilitating positive behavioural change in supervised individuals to enable them to lead more productive crime-free lives.
Community Corrections is divided into seven regions each with several district offices and reporting centres. The District Manager is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary workforce, overseeing case management activities in District Office. The District Manager leverages community partnerships aligned to strategic objectives of QCS to enhance outcomes for individuals subject to supervision and safety of the community

Logan City District Office is one of the largest Community Corrections Offices in the State, whereby the District Manager is responsible for overseeing service delivery, operations and human and workforce management.
The role requires an ability to work under pressure, with strong prioritisation and risk management skills.

Responsible for leading a large team with the support of Supervisors, the District Manager is a highly effective leader, leading by example and promoting professionalism and respect.
The District Manager of Logan City will be a valued member of the South Coast Regional Management team - a values-based and inspired team empowered to create meaningful change and enhance community safety at every opportunity.
The Essential Requirements for this role are:
- Strong senior leadership with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles
- Experience in, and understanding of, case management and supervision practices in a human services or related field.
- Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues
- Ability to engage with community groups and/or external service providers
- Demonstrated skills in negotiating service delivery priorities, deadlines, and resources
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment
- Ability to manage governance and oversight systems
- Staff management skills and experience including knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to implement contemporary human resource management practices
- Highly developed skills in resource management, including strong ability in the areas of managing resources, budget management, objective setting and monitoring, coaching and performance feedback
- Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and providing relevant advice on matters relating to Statewide Operations
- Experience in managing risk and in creating mitigation strategies to ensure delegated authority is applied correctly and in an equitable manner
Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions and Other Requirements:
- Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as management would be highly desirable
- Possession of a valid C class licence is required.
A suitability pool may be created and utilised for recurring vacancies within the region for a period of up to 12 months.
