The Statewide Manager, Sentence Management Services Intelligence is responsible for management, oversight and provision of relevant, accurate and timely intelligence to support evidence-based decision making and risk mitigation by SMS decision makers across both custodial and community settings.
Specifically, whilst having an active role in the collation and strategic contextualisation of protected information and providing advice to QCS executives, the role also manages two teams of intelligence staff.

The Statewide Manager Sentence Management Services Intelligence will:
- Lead the day-to-day management of both centralised and regional SMS intelligence staff in meeting key organisational intelligence risk identification and management objectives.
- Coordinate and manage professionals responsible for proactive identification, assessment and intervention of intelligence information related to offenders in both the case management context and for those who pose an extreme or high threat to safety and security.
- Develop and oversee processes that ensure staff receive coaching, training and professional development to team members delivering a skilled, motivated and productive team committed to organisational risk identification and management objectives.
- Exercise substantial professional judgement and facilitate comprehensive intelligence support to risk management through expert advice to decision makers and executive leaders at an individual, committee or corporate level.
- Coordinate the provision of timely, comprehensive operational, tactical and strategic intelligence advice and products to internal and external stakeholders, actionable intelligence to support investigations and evidence-based decision making pertinent to both case management and high risk, high harm prisoner cohort.
- Monitor and oversight the preparation of policy documents, submissions, briefs, memorandum and correspondence within set timeframes.
- Ensure SMS Intelligence documents, submissions and advice demonstrate an understanding of intelligence issues in the context of QCS strategic and political environments as well as national security trends.
- Manage the generation and disseminate of Intelligence products. including but not limited to, Intelligence Summaries, Intelligence Profiles, Intelligence Bulletins, Analytical Charts and Strategic Intelligence Assessments.
- Coordinate and oversee the collection, evaluation, analysis and dissemination of Intelligence data and information, and maintain Collection Plans and Intelligence Management Plans.
- Lead the provision of high-level intelligence services to SMS, Agency and Stakeholder partners.
- Initiate, develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders with a specific focus on other Intelligence services including internally, the Queensland Corrective Services Intelligence Group (QCSIG).
- Manage and ensure the proactive participation of SMS Intel in the multidisciplinary management of prisoners and offenders, including those considered high risk, high harm, through coordination and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond to direct requests for information and proactively provide relevant risk information to multidisciplinary forums at key points throughout an individual's sentence (identification, assessment, intervention, reintegration, community management) ensuring the exchange and release of information complies with legislation, policy and procedures.
- Represent QCS in a range of forums including intradepartmental, interdepartmental and community-based meetings.
- Manage SMS Intelligence compliance with corporate governance, budgetary and human resources, workplace health and safety management practices and associated legislative frameworks.
- Establish, implement and review SMS Intelligence frameworks ensuring systems support an integrated and consistent approach to intelligence gathering, analysis and reporting across both centralised and location based models.
