The Financial Services and Strategic Sourcing Command is responsible for prudent financial budgeting, management and reporting and procurement. The Command is undergoing transformative change as it reshapes its delivery approach and moves to a centralised model. The Command incorporates the Management Accounting Group, Financial Accounting and Operations Group, Procurement and Contract Management Group.
The Principal Advisor will be focused on developing and maintaining effective modelling, analysis, reporting and reporting solutions to support strategic and operational decision making for the agency.

In this role you will:
- Assist the Manager Analysis and Reporting to lead the development of innovative, contemporary, and fit-for purpose financial reporting solutions, ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives and priorities of QCS.
- Lead discreet projects and engage stakeholders to determine business requirements, gather information, negotiate timeframes, and agree on solutions to design, develop, and report.
- Responsible for maintaining pre-existing QCS specific financial reporting systems, ensuring that system maintenance and updates are actioned, and the system is operating at an optimal level.
- Lead the development of documented user manuals and internal control frameworks and staff training programs in relation to the financial reporting system to ensure consistent, high-quality practices across QCS.
- Develop and encourage a learning environment by mentoring, team development and individual capacity building to involve colleagues in ongoing career development and growth.
- Assist with budget development and analysis of accuracy of budget preparation.
- Extract financial and human resource data from large datasets, perform data analysis and interpret and communicate the results.
- Engage with operational and support services arms of the business to provide relevant financial management advice and guidance on best practice financial reporting practices.
- Respond to general requests for financial information.
