The Community Corrections and Specialist Operations Command (CCSO) is undertaking significant transformational change and project delivery.  The CCSO program management office (PMO) has been established to enhance CCSO project and program management capabilities, support successful execution of projects within the remit of CCSO, and align associated project efforts with strategic goals.

The Project Director, Community and Specialist Operations, is responsible for leading the successful delivery of organisational redesign and reform projects across the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations Command within Queensland Corrective Services (QCS), and ensuring outcome and deliverables meet QCS requirements to align to strategic objectives. This role works closely with CCSO Program Management Office to ensure project deliverables are aligned with the whole of program strategic transformation priorities.

Within the context of the role responsibilities described under “About the role', the ideal applicant will be someone who can competitively demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experiences and their suitability against the Leadership competencies for Queensland (Program Leader).

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Highly developed leadership skills in managing effective project teams, driving performance to achieve effective project delivery and strategic outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in leading the design and implementation of contemporary, innovative, fit-for-purpose project solutions and recommendations.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the use of best practice project management approaches and frameworks.
  • In depth understanding of the key issues, trends and innovative approaches relating to the safe and effective management of offenders.
  • High level interpersonal skills to build and maintain strategic working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to negotiate with influence and drive strong project outcomes.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret large, complex data to support effective project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, anticipate priorities and strategically plan to effectively meet project portfolio requirements.
  • The ability to travel to various QCS sites across Queensland to support major project delivery and expected outcomes.

There are no mandatory requirements for this role, qualifications in project/program management would be highly regarded.
