Queensland Corrective Services Academy provides education, training and professional development to corrective services staff across the state. The QCS Academy operates as the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for QCS (RTO Registration #5292).
The role of Staff Training Coordinator (STC) is to ensure correctional officers maintain their vocational qualification in accordance with relevant training standards and the requirements of the Agency.
The STC must ensure appropriate training data is maintained and both facilitates and delivers training to staff including working closely with the QCS Academy, internal trainers, centre rostering staff and external providers. STC’s are also required to deliver training on a regular basis and oversee rollout of training agenda across the centre.

In this role you will:
- Manage the planning and resourcing of the centre's training requirements to ensure that all Correctional Officers maintain their qualifications as prescribed by the Agency.
- Coordinate and deliver operational training to meet their centre's needs and forecast training requirements and resources to deliver on centre-based training needs most importantly the STC is to provide management with support to ensure correctional officers maintain current competency in their vocational certificate and all mandatory training requirements.
- Conduct training needs analysis for centre staff across a range of functions and activities and develop training plans.
- Manage the centre's training assessment function; this includes providing support to learners undertaking assessments, providing moderation for trained centre assessors.
- Confirmation and quality assurance of assessments prior to progressing to QCS Academy for validation.
- Oversee the centre's training administration and records including storage, retrieval and archiving commensurate with RTO standards.
- Produce statistical training data and reporting for centre management and the QCS Academy on a regular basis that supports decision making on future training needs and resourcing.
- Deliver quality training to staff within the centre and design training programs in conjunction with the QCS Academy.
