- Highly developed communication and collaboration skills to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts, including prioritisation of competing demands for prisoner activity and engagement.
- Experience in risk management, specifically in high-risk areas like suicide prevention, as well as the ability to de-escalate challenging situations with diverse and complex prisoners.
- Ability to simplify complex information in decision-making processes, and to articulate the resolution of complex prisoner planning in a simplified manner.
- Leverage expertise and high level knowledge in mental healthcare and contemporary offender management practices to ensure effective risk management strategies.
- High level of experience in leading and motivating others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles, as well as managing staff, providing direction, conducting performance assessments, and sourcing relevant professional development and training opportunities for a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven experience understanding case management in the human services field, providing the level of expertise required in the leadership team to understand behavioural modification and intervention, to achieve a safe correctional environment, with the best possible outcomes for individual prisoners.
- High level of experience in the provision of guidance and advice in the assessment, management and intervention of complex case prisoners.
- Contemporary knowledge of issues and trends associated with correctional operations and significant exposure to the Criminal Justice System or similar human services area.
- Knowledge of financial and resource management in the monitoring of budgets in accordance with financial requirements.
