Administration Officer, Court Advisory Services

Specialist Operations Directorate; Specialist Operations; Community Corrections and Specialist Operations; Townsville

Court Advisory Services is a pilot program in response to the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce, Hear her voice – Report Two recommendation 130 “Queensland Corrective Services develop and implement a plan for the sustainable expansion of court advisory services across Queensland to support greater use of pre-sentence reports”.

The purpose of the pilot is to ensure the magistrates have access to relevant information about an individual to make an informed sentencing decision. In some cases, this additional information will enable magistrates to consider community-based orders which would enable people to address their criminogenic needs in the community rather than in custody.
