Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is recruiting two AO8 Manager, Procurement (Category Strategy) positions. These roles will provide leadership to dynamic teams tasked with the strategic management of assigned procurement portfolios. As senior members of the Procurement and Contract Management Group (PCMG) within the Finance and Procurement Command, the successful candidates will collaborate across QCS to ensure the delivery of value, maintain high standards of probity, and achieve outcomes that support the agency's core priorities.

About PCMG
PCMG partners with QCS business units in the strategic delivery of procurement lifecycle management and the provision of sound advice to support the delivery of QCS' priorities. As a Manager Procurement, you will lead a cross-category procurement team in the strategic planning and delivery of your procurement pipeline.
What you'll do
• Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists and commercial advisors, fostering a collaborative, high performance culture.
• Develop and implement category strategies and sourcing plans that optimise cost, quality and efficiency.
• Manage supplier relationships to deliver best value outcomes and robust service for QCS.
• Embed governance and controls, champion probity, consistency and transparency in a hybrid procurement model.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders, committees and boards on complex procurement and contracting issues.
• Educate and influence internal customers to uplift procurement practice, including presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Apply project management methodologies to drive and measure procurement outcomes.
• Build external networks with suppliers, industry and peer organisations, and represent PCMG across the procurement community.
You will lead a team of up to 11 direct reports, with accountability for performance, capability development and succession planning. Location is Brisbane CBD, with travel to QCS sites as required.
What you'll bring
• A proven track record leading complex strategic sourcing initiatives and high risk procurements.
• Deep experience in category management, market engagement, evaluation, negotiation and contract management.
• Confidence advising senior stakeholders and governing bodies on procurement policy, risk and commercial issues.
• Strength in coaching and developing teams; commitment to inclusive, safe and high performing workplaces.
• (Highly desirable) Formal qualifications in law, commerce, business or procurement (e.g., Advanced Diploma of Procurement & Contracting, CIPS), coupled with significant private/public sector experience.
• Ability to travel to QCS sites, as required.
