The Senior Adviser, Countering Violence Extremism will enhance community safety through providing advice and supporting decision making for violent extremist prisoners, including the secretariat function for relevant committees. This role will also support the development and implementation of agency governance controls and service operating procedures for the management of individuals identified as violent extremist offenders, as well as playing a significant role in ensuring the management of violent extremist offenders is carried out in accordance with legislation and best practice.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:
- Knowledge of contemporary correctional and offender management practices and experience working with sensitive or classified information;
- Understanding of Queensland Corrective Services at a strategic and political level;
- High level written communication skills and experience in preparing correspondence, reports, briefings, policy papers and submissions;
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships;
- Strong system development experience regarding the collection, recording and analysis of information;
- Experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and complete allocated tasks in accordance with legislative and procedural timeframes; and
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information and conceptualise how the information impacts on the management of high risk prisoners
