The Statewide Manager, Countering Violence Extremism will enhance community safety through the implementation of a service delivery model and the establishment of internal oversight and governance controls consistent with other inter-jurisdictional countering violent extremism frameworks. The role is responsible for the provision of expert advice to key and influential stakeholders with regards to the specialised management of violent extremist offenders and prisoners within the corrections population.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Team Leader leadership stream:
- High level knowledge and experience in the assessment, management and treatment of violent extremist offenders within a correctional environment.
- Demonstrated experience and success in delivering projects and leading change in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
- Proven research and analytical skills for investigating and analysing trends associated with the management of extremist offenders and ability to operationalise this information within policy and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience building, sustaining, and managing ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Proven staff management skills and an ability to work closely with and provide support to a multidisciplinary team which includes clinical staff who conduct forensic assessments and intervention.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines; and
- Ability to develop and support inter-disciplinary and inter-agency liaison, both nationally and internationally, to build and maintain expertise and to ensure best practice in the management of extremist offenders.
