This is a Continuous Applicant Pool being used to recruit Business Support Officers to provide services in our Resources Business Centres located at Beenleigh, Bundaberg, Caboolture, Cairns, Charleville, Emerald, Gympie, Ipswich, Longreach, Mackay, Maryborough, Nambour, Robina, Rockhampton, Toma, Toowoomba, Townsville and Warwick. Applications will be assessed for suitability as employment opportunities arise and will remain in the pool for 12 months from the closing date.

You may be offered a permanent or fixed-term temporary employment in any of the listed locations if deemed suitable, pending availability of future vacancies.

 

In this role you will:

  • Communicate complex issues to clients using oral communication skills ad active listening skills, including the ability to paraphrase and summarise.
  • Interrogate Department of Resources databases and product systems to delivery quality customer service.
  • Undertake a range of financial activities including receipting (including the use of EFTPOS facilities), reconciling and banking of daily collections, purchasing and the preparation of accounts for processing.
  • Perform administrative duties for the business centre including but not limited to:

o The maintenance of registers

o Open the daily incoming mail and preparation of outgoing mail

o Liaising with contractors and other government departments for the provision of site maintenance and services

o Procurement of office supplies

o Asset stocktaking

o Motor vehicle fleet management

  • Other duties as directed and required.
