The ideal person will be experienced in:

- working collaboratively with staff to support students across the broader definition of disability, including students with complex needs

- developing the capacity of both teachers and teacher aides

- planning, preparing and delivering effective and inclusive teaching and learning experiences, including the use of learning technologies and assessment

- co-managing, with the classroom teacher, students requiring substantial, extensive and extensive plus adjustments e.g., ICPs, AAC, Individual Behaviour Support Plans and Individual Learning Plans.

Living in Weipa

Weipa is a vibrant coastal community and forms part of the Western Cape York Peninsula, an area rich in geographical beauty and cultural heritage.  Located 800km from Cairns by road, and only 200km from the northern tip of the Cape, Weipa is the ideal base for exploring all the region has to offer.  Road access to Weipa and beyond is via the Peninsula Developmental Road which is unsealed, and during the wet season may be closed for extended periods.
