We are looking for an exceptional General Practitioner to join our Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) at Caloundra Health Service.

SCHHS Salary includes:

  • Base salary comprising of between
    • $84.71 - $117.00 p.h.
  • Motor vehicle allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
    • L13 - L24 $21,000 p.a.
    • L25 - L27 $25,500 p.a.
  • Attraction and Retention Allowance up to 35% of base salary
  • Professional development allowance $21,500 p.a. (pro rata for Part-time)

The Senior Medical Officer (Minor Injury and Illness Clinic) (MIIC) is responsible for providing high quality services and patient care within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). 

The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic provides episodic unscheduled care to patients with lower acuity but emergent clinical conditions and minor injuries. The service provides care to patients on a walk in/non-appointment basis for their emergent condition and continuing medical care is not provided.

This service is an extended hours 7 day a week service (general practitioner/ nurse practitioner, registered nurses and administration support staff) dedicated to providing a more focused and appropriate response to the needs of patients with non-life threatening illnesses and injuries that do not require the services of an Emergency Department.  

Interested General Practitioners (GPs) will participate in a roster system and must commit to a minimum of one 8-hour shift per 2-week cycle. GPs are welcome to provide services more frequently, in line with their personal preference and agreed contracted arrangements.
