About the role

The pharmacy student performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time or part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Pharmacist in Queensland.

Pharmacy students are employed casually to accommodate the commitments required by their studies while gaining employment exposure to the workplace. The student contributes to Pharmacy service delivery model in the provision of effective patient care within The Prince Charles Hospital, working under the guidance and practice supervision of a Pharmacist.

  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to the day-to-day practice of hospital pharmacy.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as an active member of the health care team, and willingness to work under the direction of registered pharmacists and carry out prescribed duties with initiative, maturity and responsibility. Demonstrates respect for others, remaining flexible, fair and willing to compromise when dealing with team members.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously where appropriate.
  • Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviours.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet MNHHS values based competencies
