• Research and analyse current issues, trends, opportunities, and challenges facing specific industries and the agriculture sector more broadly.
• Prepare timely, well-researched, and high-quality correspondence, reports, submissions, briefing notes and policy or issues papers.
• Support the development of strategic advice on agricultural industry development-related issues and the agricultural sector more broadly.

What you will do
• Conduct research and analysis into current issues, trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the specific industries and the agriculture sector more broadly.
• Prepare timely, well-researched, and high-quality correspondence, reports, submissions, briefing notes and policy or issues papers as required.
• Support the development of strategic advice on agricultural industry development-related issues and the agricultural sector more broadly.
• Provide support in coordinating departmental events as required.
• Support senior members of the team with discrete policy projects and coordination activities.
• Be able to quickly develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a timely and quality outcome.
What you will bring
Essential requirements
• A relevant tertiary qualification or work experience in public policy, economics, agricultural science, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Experience in policy development and/or researching complex issues concerning agricultural industry development is highly desirable.
• An understanding of specific agricultural industries and the broader Queensland food and agribusiness sector, and issues impacting on sustainability and growth of the sector, is highly desirable.
