The opportunity:
As our Senior Director, you will lead, develop and profile an aspirational goal of a work environment free of injury or incidents, drive a strengthened safety culture, as well as set a best practice in the department's workplace health and safety systems. This leadership role will engage with the most senior levels of the department and take carriage for the engagement of stakeholders across other government agencies to:
• Lead and drive the achievement of the department's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, that includes a focus on best practice safety, health, claims management and rehabilitation functions and programs throughout the department;
• Lead transformational change in areas of behavioural safety leadership and culture, including workers compensation and psychological safety;
• Provide leadership across all areas of workplace health, safety and wellbeing services across the department.
• Provide strategic and high quality advice to senior management and employees on a broad range of contemporary health, safety and wellbeing matters to support decision making processes.
• Lead a team of health, safety and wellbeing professionals to deliver on the department's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy.
• Provide leadership in program management to deliver highly effective safety systems within a diverse workforce across Queensland.
• Lead and partner with all stakeholders across a geographically dispersed business, by establishing and maintaining strong relationships to ensure positive outcomes.

You may also have
• Possession of relevant academic qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or in a related area and or other appropriate qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
