About Legal Aid Queensland

Are you an experienced criminal lawyer? In this role you will utilise your legal expertise to support vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders. You will represent children and adults charged with criminal offences before all courts in Queensland.  

This is a permanent full time position.  

What you will do

  • Representing clients, including preparing matters, instructing counsel and personally appearing for accused persons
  • Provide legal information and advice to clients
  • Provide duty lawyer services in the Magistrates and Children's Courts and appear on higher court call-overs and mentions

About you: The successful candidate will have

  • Experience in the conduct of summary and indictable criminal law matters
  • Knowledge of the practice and procedure of criminal law, evidence and ethics
  • Ability to contribute to improvements in policy and operational practices
